6 Toast Tips

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day which is why you should keep things interesting. Like  smoothies, toast is another morning favorite that has just a few guidelines and can be made with just about anything you have on hand. Don’t believe us? We created some new toast combinations using leftovers and are officially obsessed. Toast your way to perfection this week with these simple toast tips.

1 - Start with good bread. The bread is the foundation of your toast, so don’t skimp here! We recommend using a quality whole grain or sourdough loaf cut into thick slices.

2 - Store your bread in the freezer. This might sound silly but it keeps your bread incredibly fresh and produces a great result every time. Don’t take our word for it, try it yourself! Just don’t leave the bread in your toaster too long, you don’t want freezerburn. This method is for serious toast fanatics who are making toast on the daily.

3 - Use your broiler. This might seem counterintuitive, but your toaster is not the way to make amazing toast. Use the convection broil setting on our oven and brown your toast on both sides with some olive oil or grass-fed butter for optimum results.

4 - Use leftovers for toppings. Get creative with things you already have in your refrigerator or pantry like mashed sweet potatoes, green peas, goat cheese, olives and even sliced beets. Don’t be afraid to mix textures and flavors and try different combinations, you’re sure to discover something great.

5 - Add seasonings and spices. Especially if you are using simpler ingredients as your spread, add spices! Crushed red pepper and turmeric are good options that you probably already have on hand and of course don’t forget salt and pepper.

6 - Eat it right away! Toast is meant to be enjoyed hot, so don’t wait to dig right in.
